Yesterday a Press Conference was held at the prestigious Marco Pierre White Steakhouse on the 25th floor of the Cube in Birmingham to announce the launch of the Club Legends Cup supported by Cure Leukaemia and the Little Legends Cup supported by the UK’s leading children’s football coaching company FootieBugs.  The event was launched by CEO of Cure Leukaemia James McLaughlin and Legends Cup ambassadors former Wolves keeper Matt Murray, ex-Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion player Darren Purse, former Blues player Michael Johnson and Lee Hendrie. Tom Ross from Free Radio was on hand to ask the questions along with BBC Coventry and Warwickshire presenter Phil Upton.

The Club Legends Cup and Little Legends Cup will take place at the LG Arena on the 12th July 2014. The Club Legends Cup will see Legends from Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City and Walsall as well as two mystery line-ups compete in the showpiece event. Fans will also have the opportunity to line up alongside the legends and represent their team.

The Little Legends Cup supported by FootieBugs will see six school teams from the Midlands compete to become the Little Legends Champions and emulate their heroes. FootieBugs will also be providing entertainment and exciting photo opportunities around the arena.

Tickets for the event are already on sale. CEO of FootieBugs Mark Goode said, “We are really excited to be supporting the Little Legends Cup. It will be a great prelude to the Club Legends Cup supported by Cure Leukaemia. The Midlands is a hotbed of football with great sets of fans and it promises to be a huge occasion. I have no doubt that fans turning up to see the legends of the past will also be treated to seeing some legends of the future. Let the games begin. ”
