FootieBugs 3-5s

Level 1
Toe Taps – Controlled without holding onto the wall.
Boxes – Able to pass the ball between both feet slowly.
Stopping the ball – Able to stop the ball from moving without using hands.
Control of the ball/dribbling – Dribble the ball and not pick it up more than 3 times during the session.
Shooting – Being able to dribble with the ball towards the goal and score with no defence- not using hands.

Level 2
Toe Taps – More than 10 in a row without stopping – with some rhythm.
Boxes – Able to pass ball between both feet more than 10 times  without losing control – allow one touch with the hand to bring ball back.

Stopping the ball – Able to stop the ball whilst keeping core balance with foot on the ball.
Control of the ball/dribbling – Able to dribble with the ball without picking up the ball once during the session.
Shooting – Able to strike the ball accurately at the goal from distance – coaches use the semi circle for a guideline.

Level 3
Toe Taps – With eyes closed for 8- 10 taps in a row without stopping – with a bit of rhythm.
Boxes – Able to pass ball between both feet more than 10  times without losing control with rhythm – no hands.

Stopping the ball – Able to stop the ball while dribbling at speed, keeping core balance with foot on the ball and picking up item whilst keeping control of the ball.
Control of the ball/dribbling – Keeping the football close when dribbling during 3 activities.
Shooting – Dribble past a defender and score into goal.

Level 4
Toe Taps – Toe taps with rhythm moving with the football forwards and backwards.
Boxes – Able to pass ball between both feet whilst moving in a circle, keeping control.
Stopping the ball – Able to stop the ball while dribbling at speed, keeping core balance with foot on the ball and picking up item and then dragging the ball back, keeping control of the ball, dribble  and stop by coach.
Control of the ball/dribbling – Dribbling the ball past a defender in a shooting practice – continuously keeping control of the ball throughout the session.

FootieBugs 5-7s

Level 5
Passing – Being able to successfully pass the ball with any part of the foot, whilst on the move.
Dribbling – Being able to dribble with inside and outside of foot – using strong foot, any pace.
Control – Successfully stopping the ball with any part of the foot with up to 2 touches.
Tackling – Able to tackle an opponent  and winning the ball, without necessarily gaining possession.
Shooting – Able to strike the ball with a bit of power using any part of the foot, past a goal keeper from any range.

Level 6
Passing – Being able to successfully pass the ball with any part of the foot, whilst on the move.
Dribbling – Being able to dribble with 3 parts of the foot (inside, outside and sole) with a bit more speed.
Control – Being able to control the ball with the inside or sole of the foot with one touch.
Tackling – Able to tackle an opponent  and winning the ball and gaining possession of the ball.
Shooting – Successfully  striking the ball using the right part of the foot (laces) past a goal keeper. 

Level 7
Passing – Successfully being able to pass the ball with inside of foot whilst on the move.
Dribbling – Being able to start dribbling at pace using both feet.
Control – Being able to control the ball with all 3 parts of the foot whilst on the move.
Tackling – Able to block tackle an opponent and winning the ball.
Shooting – Successfully striking the ball using the right part of the foot (laces) past a goal keeper whilst hitting the corners of the goal.

Level 8
Passing – Being able to successfully pass the ball using inside of foot in match play.
Dribbling – Being able to comfortably shift the ball past a player with either foot at pace.
Control – Being able to control the ball with all 3 parts of the foot whilst on the move and with awareness  of what players are around – not turning into somebody.
Tackling – Being able to get into the surf position and successfully tackle or prod the ball with the foot.
Shooting – Successfully  striking the ball using the right part of the foot (laces) past a goal keeper.

FootieBugs 7-9s

Level 9
Passing – Being able to successfully pass the ball with their weaker foot.
Dribbling – Starting to be able to use weaker foot to dribble using 2 parts of the foot.
Control – Seing able to control the ball with all 2 parts of foot with weaker foot.
Tackling – Being able to get into the surf position and successfully jockeying and kicking the ball out.
Shooting – Successfully striking the ball using the right part of the foot (laces) past a goal keeper, striking with more power whilst on the move.

Level 10
Passing – Being able to successfully pass the ball using different parts (inside, outside) of the foot.
Dribbling – Being able to use skill such as drop of the shoulder, a fake.
Control – Being able to shift the ball from one foot to the other foot and pass, using 2 touches.
Tackling – Successfully be able to close down an opponent at pace whilst keeping the right distance, the right body shape (surf) from their opponent to make it harder for the opponent.

Shooting – Successfully strike the ball first time.

Level 11 
Passing – Being able to start to pass the ball over 15/20 yards with lift and back spin.
Dribbling – Dribble past the defender using a more advanced skill (such as step over, double step over, Maradona) and leaving the defender(s) behind.
Control – Being able to start using different part of the body to control the ball within 2 or 3 touches)
Tackling – Successfully be able to close down an opponent at pace whilst keeping the right distance and the right body shape (surf),  jockeying from their opponent to make it harder for the opponent) – Then poking and taking the ball away.
Shooting – Successfully strike the ball first time using different parts of the body, such as volleying or heading.

Level 12 
Passing – Being able to pass the ball to your teammate through defenders and bringing your teammate into play – children will need to start forward thinking about where the ball will go next and recognise when to pass and when to keep the ball.
Dribbling – Being able to recognise when to dribble into space, down the line or pass the ball.
Control – Being able to recognise what part of the body to use at what time  – for example shifting your first touch away from the oncoming opponent.
Tackling – Recognising when to close an opponent quickly or when to keep distance and jockey.
Shooting – Recognising when to place the ball in the corners or to strike the ball with power pass the goal keeper.
